Superintendent's Message

                        Edgerton Local Schools

On behalf of Edgerton Local Schools, I would like to welcome you to the 2017-2018 school year.  Almost gone are the days of summer ball, camping, fishing, Cedar Point and family vacations.  As we drive by the school and notice the marching band and football team working hard in preparation for the upcoming season, it reminds us that fall is just around the corner.  Once again the parking lot is full of cars as educators frantically prepare their rooms and bulletin boards for the new year.  We are excited to once again work with your child in providing the very best educational experience possible.

In regards to new staff members at Edgerton Local, we welcome Macie Schroeder as Math instructor in the high school, filling the vacated position of Josh Keppeler. Also new to the high school is Kelly Bales, who will be filling the English position of Andrew Gahagan.

A special orientation, for students entering PK-Kindergarten, will take place August 10th from 6:30pm to 7:30pm in the elementary gymnasium for families interested in attending. Tours of the classroom and bus safety presentation will be provided as well. For preschool, and grades 1-6, the district will provide orientation/open house on August 15th from 5:00-7:00pm. I highly encourage you to attend these sessions if at all possible.

Commit a half hour of your time to thoroughly read the pages of rules and guidelines found in your child’s agenda when they bring it home after the first day of school. The year will operate more smoothly and your students experience here promises to be much more positive, if all parties involved agree, and abide by, the expectations and standards set forth by the Edgerton Local Schools administration team.

As I begin my tenure as Superintendent of Schools at Edgerton, I welcome your input and look forward to working with you and your children throughout the coming school year.  Because of the tremendous families, parents, staff, and students represented at Edgerton Schools, I count it a distinct privilege to serve as your district superintendent.  I encourage you stop by my office at any time throughout the year, or call me at your convenience as well, at 419-298-2410.
